Development of Parametric Bridge Deck Design Software According to Eurocode Standards
Reinforced concrete bridges are vital components of transportation infrastructure, designed to withstand diverse loads and environmental conditions while ensuring safety and durability. Eurocode 2 (EN 1992) provides comprehensive guidelines for their design, emphasizing performance-based principles and material optimization. Key considerations include structural analysis, material selection, and reinforcement quantity, all governed by Eurocode provisions. By adhering to Eurocode standards, engineers can achieve efficient and resilient bridge designs that meet stringent safety and serviceability criteria, contributing to the longevity and reliability of transportation networks.
The objective of this master's thesis is to develop a software tool for parametric bridge deck design based on Eurocode standards. The software aims to automate and streamline the process of bridge structural analysis and design, allowing engineers to efficiently generate designs for various bridge configurations. The project will involve programming in python and frameworks to implement the required functionalities for structural analysis and design according to Eurocode specifications.
